At Snopje, we make self-supporting walls, or panels as we call them, from 24 cm wide glued timber and line them on one side with spruce planks. We deliver the panels to your site and assemble them to the prepared base. Natural wood fibers are attached to the outside of the wall, with bio-cut straw blown in between. The blowing process improves straw compressibility, which is important for fire safety as compressed straw prevents oxygen ingress. A clay plaster is applied directly to the wood fiber on the inside. The facade of the house can be made of lime or ventilated wood. On request, we can also build more compact open walls with a load-bearing timber structure and compressed straw insulation.
